FPL Gameweek 6 Transfers: Price Risers and Fallers Before the Deadline

The Gameweek 6 deadline is Saturday 10 October at 11:00 BST, and the transfer market is already moving. Nearly a million Fantasy Premier League managers have bought Pascal Groß this week, Chelsea’s João Pedro leads a record exodus of more than half a million sellers, and eight players have risen in price while some of the game’s most-owned names have dropped. All numbers below are from Fantasy Premier League’s official game data, pulled on Thursday evening, and cross-checked against The False 9’s FPL Hub, which tracks the trends live.

The price risers managers are buying
Brighton are the story of the week. Pascal Groß has been bought by 990,579 managers, more than any other player, and has risen twice this gameweek to £5.9m. The midfielder leads the season scoring chart with 47 points at 9.4 per game, and his form figure of 15.5 is the highest in the game. Brighton travel to Sunderland on Saturday, and our Gameweek 6 captain picks had Groß top of the board at Sunderland for exactly that reason.
Two more Seagulls are flying in. Charalampos Kostoulas is the week’s third most-bought player with 434,802 transfers in and a rise to £5.6m; his form of 10.0 puts him among the game’s in-form forwards. Maxim De Cuyper has been bought by 400,582 managers and risen to £5.0m, with 38 points, one goal, three assists and three clean sheets. If you want the tactical case for Brighton’s trip to the Stadium of Light, our predicted lineups for Sunderland v Brighton lay out the matchups.
Elsewhere, Kevin Schade’s 533,173 transfers in are the week’s second highest. The Brentford midfielder has risen to £6.2m with form of 12.0 and 39 points from five starts, ahead of Brentford’s trip to Aston Villa. James Tarkowski has been bought by 301,787 managers and risen to £6.2m; the Everton centre-back has form of 11.0 and 43 points, and Everton’s away fixture at Hull on Sunday carries a difficulty rating of two out of five, the joint easiest defensive fixture of the weekend.
Arsenal’s kind home fixture against Leeds is moving money too. Bukayo Saka has risen to £9.6m after 226,999 transfers in, while David Raya is up to £6.1m and is now owned by 42.6% of managers, the highest ownership of any goalkeeper. Riccardo Calafiori has also risen, to £5.9m. Newcastle’s Lewis Hall is the week’s fifth most-bought player with 344,765 transfers in and a rise to £5.3m ahead of Monday night’s trip to Coventry.
One name to watch in the risers list: Morgan Rogers. The Chelsea midfielder has been bought by 245,046 managers and risen to £7.8m, with Chelsea at home to Bournemouth on Saturday. Our Gameweek 6 differentials flagged the cheaper Chelsea and Hull routes for managers looking beyond the template.
The fallers on the way out
João Pedro’s knee injury has triggered the biggest sell of the season so far. 505,233 managers have sold the Chelsea forward, who has dropped to £7.7m and is listed with a 75% chance of playing. He remains the game’s most-owned player at 64.1%, so his status is the single biggest team-news watch of the deadline.
Dominik Szoboszlai is the second most-sold player with 289,369 transfers out and a drop to £6.9m. His form figure sits at just 2.5, and Liverpool host Manchester City on Sunday in the weekend’s toughest fixture on paper, rated four out of five for difficulty for both sides.
Bruno Fernandes has been sold by 249,160 managers and dropped to £11.9m, with form of 2.0. Manchester United host Spurs on Saturday evening in a fixture rated four out of five for difficulty for the visitors’ opponents. Cole Palmer is the third most-sold player with 260,192 transfers out; the £9.7m Chelsea midfielder has a muscular injury and a 75% chance of playing.
Elsewhere in the fallers, Christos Tzolis has dropped to £6.3m after 230,752 sales following a hamstring injury, and Leeds’ Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been sold by 234,163 managers before the trip to the Emirates. Nico O’Reilly, Luke Shaw, Harry Maguire and Ibrahim Sangaré have all dropped a tenth as well.
The curious case is Brian Brobbey. The Sunderland forward has been bought by 203,132 managers on the back of form of 9.0, yet still dropped to £5.7m this gameweek. It is a reminder that price changes lag transfers: heavy selling earlier in the week can drag a price down even as the buys arrive.
Three moves worth making before Saturday
First, the Brighton double-up still has legs. Groß at £5.9m and De Cuyper at £5.0m both combine top-five transfer momentum with genuine returns, and Sunderland at home is a neutral fixture, not a fortress. If you only have one free transfer, Groß is the priority.
Second, plan around the doubts rather than through them. João Pedro at 75% and Palmer at 75% are the two most-owned injury risks in the game, and both play in Saturday’s 14:00 kickoffs, which means no early team news to lean on. If either is flagged out on Friday, the funds free up moves to Schade or Saka in the same price bracket.
Third, do not sleep on the Monday fixture. Hall’s 344,765 transfers in show the template is already moving, and Newcastle’s trip to Coventry closes the gameweek. A defender with 31 points and form of 6.5 at £5.3m is the kind of steady pick that survives the fixture congestion still to come.
